By Sam Baker, KERA 90.1 Reporter

Dallas, TX –

As part of our 2006 Voters Voice coverage, KERA will present an ongoing series of interviews and campaign speeches from candidates in the March 7th gubernatorial primaries. Today, you'll hear from Democrat Chris Bell. Bell is running for his party's nomination against former Texas Supreme Court Justice Bob Gammage and Houston businessman Rashad Jafer. You'll likely remember the Houston attorney and former city councilman for filing an ethics complaint against then-House Majority Leader Tom DeLay after mid-term redistricting cost Bell his seat in Congress. The interview began with the issue of school finance reform. Bell told 90.1's Sam Baker he doesn't feel the tax commission Governor Rick Perry created and the continued emphasis on property tax relief is enough to properly address the issue.
