Dallas, TX –
In 1985, the Amon Carter Museum presented In the American West: Photographs by Richard Avedon to wide acclaim. This fall, the Carter will re-present a major portion of the works to mark the exhibition's 20th anniversary. Laura Wilson - photographer, Avedon's research assistant, and contributor to a new KERA television documentary which will air this weekend - discusses Avedon's work on the project, as well as her own photography, which the Carter is showcasing in a companion exhibit.
Visit KERA's In the American West website for more about the documentary, including video of KERA's 1985 "News Addition" piece on the original exhibition and details about the Amon Carter Museum's new exhibits of Avedon's and Wilson's work.
