Raymond's motion for hearings fail

Austin. TX – Rep. Richard Raymond's motion Monday that the full House Redistricting Committee hold hearings in Waco, Laredo, Corpus Christi, El Paso, McAllen, Tyler and Amarillo before any further action is taken on bills in the committee has just failed in committee by a 5-8-0 vote. Voting aye: Reps. Ruth Jones McClendon, Richard Raymond, Kino Flores, Mike Villarreal and Vilma Luna. Voting no: Reps. Joe Crabb, Kent Grusendorf, Carl Isett, Robert Talton, Phil King, Mike Krusee, Kenneth Marchant, Geanie Morrison. Absent - Reps. Ron Wilson and Jim Pitts.
