Top Stories: North Texas Based Airlines Get Set To Jet To Cuba, Set Designer In The Spotlight

The federal government has given American Airlines and Southwest Airlines tentative  approval to start commercial flights to Cuba. The initial plan is to have flights connect through Miami.

And today, Art&Seek begins a new series called Artist Spotlight. On Thursdays, the personal journey of a different North Texas creative will be chronicled. In this first installment, Claire Floyd DeVries explains how an architect who knew nothing of stage design decided she wanted to create imaginary worlds.

Courtney Collins has been working as a broadcast journalist since graduating from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in 2004. Before coming to KERA in 2011, Courtney worked as a reporter for NPR member station WAMU in Washington D.C. While there she covered daily news and reported for the station’s weekly news magazine, Metro Connection.
