[We've updated this story.] Keep your eyes to the skies this evening. Severe weather is possible.
Storms could be strong enough to produce damaging winds, large hail, and even a tornado, the National Weather Service says. Heavy rain could lead to flash flooding in some parts of North Texas.
Thunderstorms were forming near Amarillo around 5 p.m. Wednesday -- those storms should reach parts of North Texas by midnight, the National Weather Service says.
A tornado watch is in effect until 10 p.m. for counties west of Dallas-Fort Worth. The watch includes Wichita Falls.
At 7 p.m., other storms were moving south of Dallas-Fort Worth -- those storms were moving to the east at 30 mph. Here's what the weather service says: "Cloud-to-ground lightning and heavy rain will accompany some of these storms. A few storms may be severe, producing hail larger than quarters and wind gusts to 60 mph. Runoff from heavy rain may result in some street and stream flooding. A tornado or two cannot be ruled out."
As of 7 p.m., no watches or warnings were in effect for Dallas-Fort Worth.
Storms are also possible across North Texas Thursday and Friday.
