Wind whipped snow around Dallas and across North Texas on Friday.

The top stories this evening from the KERA Newsroom: One to four inches of snow across Dallas-Fort Worth caused flight cancelations and delays. One UNT student trying to catch a flight finally gave up and drove home.

Also, students in high schools across Texas are preparing for the annual Academic Decathlon. And the dean of the statehouse press corps, Paul Burka, retires.
