The top local stories this evening from the KERA Newsroom:

KERA confirmed that the first Ebola patient to contract the disease in the U.S. is Texas Health Presbyterian nurse Nina Pham. And Wendy Davis, the Democrat running for governor, is defending a TV ad that generated a firestorm of debate over the weekend.  It shows a wheelchair to represent her Republican opponent Greg Abbott.
