KERA News

In today's All Things Considered local block from the KERA Newsroom:

The U.S. versus Belgium World Cup game drew 20,000 fans to AT&T Stadium to watch the matchup on the big, big screen. And a tribute to Billy Porterfield. The longtime Texas journalist and KERA producer was 81 and died after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

You can listen to the segment weekdays at 6:20 p.m. and 8:20 a.m. on KERA 90.1 FM.

Courtney Collins has been working as a broadcast journalist since graduating from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in 2004. Before coming to KERA in 2011, Courtney worked as a reporter for NPR member station WAMU in Washington D.C. While there she covered daily news and reported for the station’s weekly news magazine, Metro Connection.
