KERA 90.1 FM has launched a twice-a-day local news segment from the KERA newsroom. The 10-minute segments air weekdays at 8:20 a.m. and 6:20 p.m. Click below to listen to Wednesday evening's edition, which includes a profile of the wunderkind who composed the Kennedy 50th anniversary commemoration piece for the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. Courtney Collins has been working as a broadcast journalist since graduating from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in 2004. Before coming to KERA in 2011, Courtney worked as a reporter for NPR member station WAMU in Washington D.C. While there she covered daily news and reported for the station’s weekly news magazine, Metro Connection.
