The National Weather Service is calling the snowstorm at the top of Texas a "a historic blizzard."
As of noon, 17 inches of snow had fallen on Amarillo. Whiteouts in the Panhandle and Oklahoma have left roads completely impassable. National Guard units were called to rescue motorists, CNN reports.
The DFW area's looking at a 20 percent chance of snow tonight with little expectation for accumulation. Sorry, young snow gluttons.
