Tape and Copy: Roebuck "Pops" Staples the patriarch of the gospel and rhythm and blues group the Staple Singers, died yesterday at his home in Dolton, Ill. Staples was at home recovering from a concussion he suffered when he fell four weeks ago. He was 84.
