Mad Cows in Europe

NPR's Sarah Chayes reports on new efforts by the European Union to prevent the spread of beef tainted with mad cow disease. The plan includes a ban on meat-based feeds and the destruction of older cattle who have not been tested for the disease. Faith in European beef has been badly shaken by a number of deadly cases of the disease in Britain and France.
