The top local stories this morning from KERA News: The Texas Democratic Party says it has a candidate running for every congressional seat this year and almost 90 percent of seats in the state Legislature.

Historically, it's been difficult to recruit a Democrat in Texas to run for seats in a mostly Republican state.

This election cycle has been different. Texas Democrats say the party's been fired up in response to the Trump administration.

Other stories this morning:

  • President Trump has cut refugee admission caps in half, and that policy shift has already been felt in Texas.
  • Financial circles have been buzzing about the digital cryptocurrency known as bitcoin, but there’s a lot of uncertainty about how it actually works.
