The top local stories this evening from KERA News:

Across North Texas, early voting is underway for the May 6 municipal elections. Members of city councils and school boards will be elected. But as KERA’s Christopher Connelly reports, if the past is any indication, most people who can vote... won't.

Other stories this evening:

  • The jury in John Wiley Price’s federal corruption trial has stopped deliberating for the sixth day – and will return to court Thursday morning. As of Tuesday, the jury was deadlocked on at least one of the counts against Price, the longtime Dallas County commissioner.
  • KERA’s series One Crisis Away, "No Place to Go" is shining a spotlight on the people of West Dallas. New development and tougher city housing standards mean 300 families are facing a June 3 move out deadline. KERA’s Jessica Diaz-Hurtado shares the voice of one mother.
  • Most Texans probably think of the Gulf of Mexico as a place to have fun and relax. This American sea, though, is a key part of our natural and industrial history. Today on Think, environmental historian Jack Davis talked with Krys Boyd about why the Gulf is more than just a tourist destination.
