Dallas, TX – American Airlines' corporate parent, AMR, reports a 97 million dollar loss in the 4th quarter of 2010. Still, that's an improvement, as KERA's Bill Zeeble explains.

American's numbers were much better than last year's $1.5 billion loss. CEO Gerard Arpey called 2010 a year of significant improvement & progress.

American negotiated deals with several international airlines to improve customer service. It also announced two jet purchases.

But while the industry and American are still suffering in the economic downturn, other airlines have managed quarterly profits. Arpey expressed confidence American is headed in that direction. Bill Zeeble KERA news.
