Dallas, TX – A Plano man is under arrest for allegedly threatening to use deadly force to stop an abortion at a Dallas clinic.
Federal agents says 27 year old Erlyndon Lo filed a motion at the federal clerk's office in Plano requesting a restraining order against the clinic. In his motion, Lo said he planned to use deadly force, if necessary, to stop abortions at the clinic.
If convicted of threatening to use deadly violence, Lo could get five years in prison and a 250 thousand dollar fine.
Preston Road Traffic Alert
This week, Preston Road --State Highway 289-- will be closed in McKinney for overnight road work.
The Texas Department of Transportation is replacing the northbound pavement from Eldorado Parkway to US 380.
Work is scheduled between 7:30 pm and 5:30 am tonight through Friday, April 9th.
Northbound traffic will be detoured at Eldorado - except for residents of the nearby Latera neighborhood. Southbound traffic will also be detoured along different segments. Message boards will alert drivers.
Hawking honored with auditorium at Texas A&M
Renowned British astrophysicist Stephen Hawking has returned to Texas A&M University to present a lecture on a topic that has earned him international attention - black holes.
But before his lecture Monday evening in College Station, Hawking attended a dedication ceremony for an auditorium that has been named after him inside Texas A&M's two new physics buildings.
The mathematics professor at the University of Cambridge rose to international fame with the best-selling book "A Brief History of Time."
he 68-year-old scientist, who uses a wheelchair and relies on a computer to talk for him in a synthesized voice, suffers from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, an incurable degenerative disorder also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. He was diagnosed at age 21.
