Dallas, TX – Early voting starts today for Democratic and Republican party runoff elections. KERA's Bill Zeeble has more.
Early voting will run through this Friday, April 9th, with polls open every day, 7am to 7pm. High profile races include long-time Republican Tarrant County Commissioner Marti Van Ravenswaay facing Andy Nguyen, who pulled more votes than the incumbent on March 2nd. In Dallas, Democrats Clay Jenkins and Larry Duncan are battling to be the party's County Judge candidate this fall.
They both placed ahead of incumbent Jim Foster. Extremely low voter turnout is typical and expected. Runoff election day is Tuesday, April 13th. Winners will then prepare for the general election in November.
