Dallas, TX –
Gasoline prices in Texas keep edging up. The average statewide price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $2.54. That's up a nickel over the past week, according to Triple-A's Weekend Gas Watch.
Triple-A's Dan Ronan says even with the increase, gasoline is still cheaper than this time last year.
Ronan: This is a dollar-eleven cents cheaper than what it was a year ago, which is a good thing. The cost of filling up a tank today is 35.56 for a 14-gallon tank fill-up. If you did it a week ago, it was about 33 dollars.
Ronan says the price of a barrel of oil has risen about ten dollars over the past month, and that means higher prices at the pump. But, a gallon of gas in Texas is still 11 cents below the national average.
