Dallas, TX – I'm Bill Zeeble. In the Dallas council district 13 race to replace outgoing council man Mitchell Rasansky, long time activist and business woman Ann Margolin soundly beat Brint Ryan, a successful tax consultant, 57 to 43 percent. This nasty race featured a slander and libel suit, and the most expensive race in city council history. Margolin was pleasantly surprised by her victory.

Margolin: I honestly had no clue what was going to happen tonight except for the fact that all the response I've had throughout my campaign has been so positive and I knew I had so much grass roots support.

Opponent Brint Ryan was gracious in defeat.

Ryan. If I can help in any way I would be happy to do that.

Margolin says her biggest concern is the Dallas budget and the hundred million dollar deficit. She'll be a new voice who opposes the city owned hotel. Bill Zeeble KERA news.
