Dallas, TX – Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert is still not commenting about reports that he explored a possible city takeover of the Dallas School District.
He dodged reporters again at City Hall today.
Leppert: (Have you talked with the TEA about perhaps naming you the conservator should they decide to do that?) I think, again, you can do the research on different pieces and that sort of thing. I think the statement I met (sic) kinda captures where I am.
A spokesperson for State Senator Royce West says that West is not pursing legislation that would shift control of DISD to the mayor. West said in previous news stories that Mayor Leppert had approached him about the issue.
