Senators John Cornyn and Ted Cruz are throwing their weight behind Fort Worth's bid for federal funding to help extend the TexRail commuter line.

Cornyn and Cruz sent a letter to the Federal Transit Authority asking for $40 million to help expand the TexRail service. The proposal would extend the rail line by 2 miles into Fort Worth's Medical District.


Fort Worth is about to get more frequent access to DFW Airport, thanks to Trinity Metro TexRail.

The commuter rail line is planning to increase the frequency of train trips to and from the airport. Starting Sunday, TexRail will offer 10 hours of 30-minute frequency during peak hours all week long, Trinity Metro announced this week.
