According to legend -- and a Texas historical marker -- early in the morning on April 17, 1897, something strange happened in the small town of Aurora, about 30 miles northwest of Fort Worth.

Aurora 2015 is tonight in Dallas. The event bathes the Dallas Arts District in bright light. We caught up with Joshua King, the event co-founder, who told us about some of the not-to-be missed installations this year.

You'll definitely want to check out this video of Friday night's Aurora, a festival that bathed the Dallas Arts District in bright light and attracted about 30,000 folks.

The exhibition included lights, computer images, video projections and performances that took over buildings, inside and out (and on the sides of buildings, too.)  About 90 artists participated. Organizers hope to make it an annual event.
