As of 12:36 pm, Arlington police ended a lockdown at Lamar High School, finding nothing to confirm earlier reports of a gun possibly brought to the campus by a student.

Police say they checked students matching a description of the alleged gun carrier, and a police dog was brought in to search the school and lockers. More from the police:

We feel confident that we have exhausted all reasonable means to locate a weapon on campus and turned the campus back over to the district. We will maintain a visible presence on campus today in addition to our normal school resource officers assigned to the campus. We will continue to work with the school on any additional leads that may emerge. Out of an abundance of caution we made the decision to lock the school down initially until we could ensure the safety of all students.
