President Donald Trump was in downtown Dallas on Thursday for a political fundraiser. Trump headlined a dinner at the Adolphus hotel to benefit the National Republican Party and his 2020 re-election effort.
The president was in Houston earlier in the afternoon, he began today's Texas trip by meeting privately with families of some of the 10 people killed in a shooting at Santa Fe High School earlier this month.

- Some Texas lawmakers want to block the Trump administration from including a question about citizenship on the 2020 Census. The Mexican American Legislative Caucus and the Texas Senate Hispanic Caucus are among the groups that filed a lawsuit today. They argue asking about citizenship will lead to an undercount of the state’s immigrants. They say an undercount could jeopardize billions of dollars in federal funding and the state’s number of representatives in Congress, which are tied to population size.

- Lovers Lane United Methodist Church is an entire complex of chapels, offices and ministries. It offers everything from traditional services to contemporary Christian music, even a jazz band.
