The top local stories this morning from KERA News: Parts of the Dallas North Tollway and Highway 183 will be shut down this weekend for bridge demolitions.
All lanes of the Dallas North Tollway between State Highway 121 and Spring Creek Parkway will be closed beginning tonight through Monday. That portion of the tollway will also close next week.

- The conservative organizers who helped topple Houston’s equal rights ordinance have turned their attention to Target. Jared Woodfill and Steven Hotze of Conservative Republicans of Texas have pledging a $2 million ad campaign against the retailer’s transgender restroom policy.
- The mayors of Fort Worth and Dallas spent this week in Mexico, pitching North Texas to the country’s government and business leaders. Meanwhile, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump criticized a federal judge for his Mexican heritage in a CNN interview.
