Top Stories: Dallas Faith Leaders Gather For Vigil; Getting To Know Texas Sculptor James Surls

A small group of Dallas faith leaders gathered beneath the Confederate war memorial in Pioneer Park today, demanding the city proceed with its original recommendation to remove the public monument.

  • Astronaut Terry Virts piloted the space shuttle Endeavor and commanded the International Space Station, and in the 200 days he spent in space he captured more than 300,000 images. Today on Think, he talked with Krys Boyd about looking at the Earth from space.

  • Texas-born artist James Surls is considered one of America’s great living sculptors. The 75-year-old is also a founder of Houston’s contemporary art scene. In this week’s State of the Arts discussion, Art&Seek’s Hady Mawajdeh talks with Surls about how his art can be misinterpreted, and what it'll take to help young artists flourish.
