Starting Friday, DART, the T and the Denton County Transportation Authority will offer a free week’s pass in exchange for a gasoline receipt.
The agencies are working together for “Dump the Pump” Week, June 18-23. Starting Friday at specific locations commuters who bring a gas receipt will get a weekly regional transit pass, good on all DART, T and DCTA bus and train service.
The American Public Transportation Association says people who take transit to work could save as much as $9,000 a year on gas, car maintenance and repair.
The transit pass swap will take place at specific times in specific locations over the next week. The first, Friday night, is at NRH2O Water Park in North Richland Hills from 6-8.
