The new Parkland Hospital, which opens next week, unveiled a larger-than-life statue of Dr. Ron Anderson today.

Anderson was the longtime Parkland CEO who died last year. Parkland Foundation President David Krause says it’s a fitting tribute. He says the vision of a new Parkland started many years ago with Anderson.
“It’s remarkable,” Krause said. “He’s smiling down and it looks just like him. And if you look in his left hand, he’s got the blueprints for New Parkland. So it says it all.”
Anderson led Parkland for 29 years. He died last September.
His bronze-silicon, 7 ½-foot tall statue stands in the lobby of the new Parkland Hospital and was a gift of the Ralph B. Rogers Foundation.
