The Dallas County sheriff’s office said Joseph Bobadilla was arrested Thursday. He was being held in Dallas County jail Thursday afternoon on $500 bond. Jail records didn’t list an attorney for him.

The sheriff’s office said 25-year-old Bobadilla had been working an off-duty job guarding the Dallas store following the Oct. 20 tornado. The sheriff’s office said Home Depot’s corporate office notified them that Bobadilla was involved in the theft of merchandise.

The sheriff’s office said Bobadilla took items and then exchanged them at another location for store credit. He would then buy items including appliances with the store credit.
