The Dallas Police Department says more than 100 of its officers currently lack access to computer databases that display important criminal information.

WFAA reportsthe databases are used by officers to check a person's criminal history and outstanding warrants. They also show vehicles registered as stolen.

The Dallas Police Association president says he notified the police chief about the lack of access.

The Dallas Police Department says 123 officers currently lack access, including 62 patrol officers. Officers have to participate in training every two years. If they don't, their computer access is taken away.

Major Scott Bratcher says trainers are being assigned to help officers on their certifications so their access can be restored.
