Top Stories: Things Heat Up For Dallas County Commissioner Seat; Pope's Comments Resonating At TCU

Dallas County Commissioner John Wiley Price, in an earlier picture, has been in office since the mid-1980s.

The top stories this afternoon from KERA News: The already tense campaign battle between John Wiley Price and Dwaine Caraway got downright ugly Monday. They and the other two candidates trying to knock Price out of his Dallas county commission seat were at gospel station KHVN – eight days before the Super Tuesday primary.

Texas Senator Ted Cruz made headlines on the national political scene Monday, but not the kind of headlines a candidate wants to make. Cruz asked his communications director, Rick Tyler to resign. Cruz was not happy that Tyler posted a video to Facebook misquoting GOP rival Marco Rubio.

Meanwhile, the big political story from last week, the pope’s remarks about Donald Trump’s immigration policies, made waves in churches across the country. TCU's chaplain Father James Wilcox says the pontiff’s comments are resonating on campus.
