From The Newsroom: How The Jackson Pollock Gallery Came To Dallas; Looking Back At Fort Worth's Past

The top local stories this evening from the KERA Newsroom: At a prayer vigil Friday morning for the city's first responders, Fort Worth Chief Joel Fitzgerald said his people must tighten relationships with the communities they serve.

The Fort Worth Opera is sponsoring a series of discussions as it prepares to premiere a new opera called “JFK.”  KERA’s Christopher Connelly says this one focused on what has, and has not, changed for African-Americans since 1963.

Jackson Pollock is acknowledged as one of the greatest American painters. And yet, since he died in 1956 -- major exhibitions of his work have been surprisingly rare. The new exhibit opened Friday at the Dallas Museum of Art.
