From The Newsroom: North Texas Is Drenched; What Makes Proposition 7 Different

Arlington Police Twitter / @ArlingtonPD

The top local stories this evening from the KERA Newsroom: Parts of North Texas have been doused with more than 6 inches of rain since Thursday, and storms are in the forecast through Sunday.

Flash flood warnings are in effect across much of the area. Emergency crews have been tending to high water rescues, flooded streets and power outages. The Red Cross is using Twitter to help decide when to spring into action.

And there are seven propositions to amend the Texas constitution on the ballot Nov. 3. Proposition 7 would increase funding for roads by about $2.5 billion. The bill was written by Republican State Senator Robert Nichols. He sits down with KERA to talk about Prop 7.
