Senator Cornyn Concerned About Possible Israeli Attack On Iran

Texas Republican Senator John Cornyn says he’s concerned Israel will attack Iran if tensions between the two countries do not ease.

Senator Cornyn spoke to the Dallas Regional Chamber of Commerce Friday. Iran is under scrutiny over whether it’s developing a nuclear weapon which Cornyn says would destabilize the Middle East.

Senator Cornyn:  While we have our concerns here in the United States Israel is experiencing an existential threat. And, my concern is that Israel will not wait on the United States nor will they ask permission of the United States. Once we withdrew our troops from Iraq there is clear airspace across Iraq to Iran.

Despite economic sanctions, Iran has continued producing nuclear-grade material claiming it’s for energy purposes, not a nuclear weapon.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet with President Barack Obama in Washington to discuss Iran’s nuclear ambitions next month.
