Fort Worth, TX – Fort Worth Council members had planned to vote on revisions to the City's gas drilling ordinance today.
But a public hearing on the changes grew heated last week and a City spokesman says a decision on some or all of the revisions may be delayed.
Numerous citizens spoke out in favor of extending the ban on deep water wells within City limits, and that's what the Council is poised to do today.
The revised ordinance would also change restrictions for drilling applications and setbacks. Some drilling businesses opposed those changes.
Council members are deciding this morning how to proceed.
