Dallas, TX – Matthew Levitt's a scholar, researcher and former government intelligence worker with expertise in terrorist organizations, including Hamas. Monday, defense lawyers failed to convince the judge that Levitt lacked reliable information for this case. On the stand, he looked at photos and identified Hamas founders & some of the groups funding efforts. He also outlined the radical Hamas plan to establish an Islamic state by overthrowing Israel. Jurors listened to the dry sequence of questions & answers, scribbling notes on their court-provided pads. The witness often faced jurors as if lecturing to them. He's testified in other terror cases, and before Congress. Defense attorneys said they'll get their shot at him tomorrow. Bill Zeeble KERA news.
