With about 2-days before polls open Saturday, you'll likely see no shortage of TV ads from candidates for mayor of Dallas - although of late, most of the ads have come from few of the candidates. Three of the most well-funded candidates - Sam Coats, Tom Leppert and Max Wells - appear to have bought the most air time. I talked about the messages in those ads with Dan Schill, an assistant professor of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs at SMU. Schill researches and teaches Political Communications, and he says the field of mayoral candidates had obstacles from the beginning.
