DSO librarian helps Iraqi National Symphony

By Kim Malcolm, KERA 90.1 reporter

Dallas, TX – Karen Schnackenburg, the chief librarian of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra recently traveled to Washington D.C. to help present a gift of music to the Iraqi National Symphony Orchestra - a collection of scores and parts donated by orchestra librarians and music publishers from around the world. Karen helped coordinate the two-month international effort, and says the story starts with a letter asking for help from Paul Bremer, who runs the Coalition Provisional Authority in Baghdad.
