A travel association survey finds retail gasoline prices have tumbled 7 cents across Texas this week. AAA Texas on Thursday reported the average price at the pump fell to $3.61 per gallon.

Gas prices nationally also down 6 cents, reaching $3.74 per gallon. AAA Texas says crude oil prices have declined in the last week.

The group's weekly survey finds the most expensive gasoline statewide is in El Paso, at $3.73 per gallon. Amarillo has the cheapest gasoline, selling for an average $3.46 per gallon.

Upscale Dallas mall adopts teen curfew

An upscale Dallas mall developed in the 1960s as the largest climate-controlled retail establishment in the world has announced a teen curfew.

NorthPark Center provided details on its new code of conduct, effective immediately. Spokesman Mark Annick says 26 million people visit NorthPark Center annually and the code is due to growth, not any ethnic or racial group.

Children age 17 and younger must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian after 6 p.m. daily. The exceptions are youths working at stores or youngsters going directly to and then leaving movies.

Unaccompanied youths must dress appropriately for a "family-oriented" shopping center. Visible undergarments are not allowed.

NorthPark describes itself as the largest shopping center in North Texas, with more than 235 stores and restaurants.

In East Texas, keeping a job that makes you queasy

Rep. David Simpson admits his job in the Texas Legislature makes his stomach churn.

But the tea party favorite says he's seeking re-election to keep government from becoming all-consuming.

Whether tea party supporters can propel their favorites from 2010 to victory again may decide three key Texas House races in the state's May 29 Republican primary.

Simpson is facing the man he beat two years ago, former state Rep. Tommy Merritt. Another East Texas race pits tea party darling Rep. James White against another incumbent, Rep. Mike Hamilton.

The two Republicans are squaring off due to redistricting. But some grassroots conservative groups claim Hamilton is too moderate.

In West Texas, another 2010 rematch has former state Rep. Delwin Jones trying to unseat tea partier Rep. Charles Perry of Lubbock.

58 Dogs, 1 Year Old Boy, Taken From Parker Co Home

A Parker County woman faces multiple charges of animal cruelty after 58 dogs were seized from her home. Investigators also found a one year old boy in a crib surrounded by animal feces. He is now in state custody.

One official called the house on Lynch Bend Road “the worst level of unsanitary conditions.” The odor could be smelled from the street.

Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler says a call from a concerned citizen led them to Teresa Weldon’s house. Inside they found 31 of the dogs locked in filthy crates stacked on top of each other. Some dogs had food and water, others didn’t. Two of them, in bad shape, had to be euthanized.

Officials say Teresa Weldon could also face child endangerment charges. She remains in the Parker County jail.

Palin endorses Cruz in Texas Senate race

Tea party-favorite Sarah Palin has endorsed Ted Cruz in the U.S. Senate race in Texas.

The former Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential candidate praised Cruz for his conservative principles.

Cruz is a former Texas solicitor general and appellate lawyer running for the Republican nomination to replace U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison. He has won endorsements from many national tea party leaders and conservative anti-tax groups.

Cruz hopes to force a run-off with front-runner Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst. Dewhurst has been endorsed by most Texas Republican groups and political action committees.

The other two candidates in the race include former Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert and former ESPN football analyst Craig James.

Dewhurst has touted his experience in business and state politics while Cruz has emphasized his conservative views.
