NPR's Eric Weiner reports Filipinos went to the polls today in legislative elections that will test the legitimacy of their country's new president. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo was not on the ballot but many of her supporters were. If they do well, the election will demonstrate public support for Arroyo who was never elected -- but rather swept into power by massive demonstrations that drove out previous president Joseph Estrada.
