The 2000 Census

NPR's Pam Fessler reports the 2000 census is in. The US population grew by 13.2 percent in the past ten years. Most of the growth was in the west and the south which means more congressional seats there, and two seats each in New York and Pennsylvania will be cut. This could mean the Democratic Party that fought so hard to regain seats during the recent election could lose them again.
