Self-Censored Internet

Commentator Doug Rushkoff says the greatest threat to free expression on the internet are not paranoid law enforcement officials or greedy recording industry moguls, but the ordinary users. Stoked by the fear of hackers, spam and internet porn, he says there has been a mass migration towards internet safe havens. Even the tools we use to navigate and even create digital workspace make many assumptions for us, standards preset by companies like microsoft.
