Top Stories: State Juvenile Justice Workers Arrested For Misconduct

The top local stories this morning from KERA News: Authorities have arrested four current or former state juvenile justice employees and the search continues for a fifth worker. Three of those arrested yesterday worked at the juvenile lockup in Gainesville, north of Dallas.

All are accused of criminal misconduct ranging from tampering with government records, theft, and using excessive force.

Six weeks ago, the Governor ordered the Texas Rangers to investigate the Texas Juvenile Justice Department. The order followed a Dallas Morning News report detailing rampant violence, drug use and sexual abuse.
