Top Stories: Dallas County Schools Being Investigated; Cotton Bowl Teams Visit Children's Hospitals

The top local stories this morning from KERA News:

Federal charges have been filed in an investigation into the financial losses at Dallas County Schools.

NBC DFW reports a criminal complaint filed yesterday shows that prosecutors allege the company paid millions of dollars in bribes to help in securing government contracts.

  • The Universities of Southern California and Ohio State football teams, here for Friday's Cotton Bowl, went to visit patients of children's hospitals in Dallas on Wednesday. The Trojans and Buckeyes passed out mini footballs and rally towels with the school logos for the children to enjoy.

  • Directors Wes Anderson, Robert Rodriguez, Richard Linklater and David Lowery all hail from Texas – and each has a new movie out in 2018. This week, our Big Screen team previews a very Texas-centric year in the movies.
