Other stories this evening:

  • The world’s best young classical pianists are in Fort Worth for the 15th Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. These pianists have been playing since they were kids, and the Cliburn can help them establish lifelong careers. KERA’s Bill Zeeble talked with some of the competitors about what it means to be at the Cliburn.

  • The state's fertile country music scene has bred some memorable storytellers. Think George Strait, Miranda Lambert or outlaws Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. Broken hearts, drug addiction, even bankruptcy. These songwriters bare it all for their craft.
