North Texas Giving Day Raises Record $39 Million For Nonprofits, Harvey Relief

North Texas Giving Day

Nonprofit organizations across the region benefited from another record-setting North Texas Giving Day Thursday.

In 18 hours, $39 million was raised for North Texas nonprofits, surpassing last year’s total of $37 million, organizers say. Donations were made from all 50 states and 36 countries.

The North Texas Food Bank received the most individual gifts with 2,509 single donations. Cistercian Preparatory School in Irving raised the most money with $672,681.

Also, 1,775 donations totaling more than $370,000 were given to Hurricane Harvey relief funds.

North Texas Giving Day is an annual one-day fundraising event for area nonprofit organizations. Communities Foundation of Texas launched the program in 2009.

In nine single-day events since 2009, $195 million has been donated to area nonprofits on North Texas Giving Day, organizers say.

The full list of results of Thursday’s event are available on NTGD’s website. The nonprofit numbers listed do not include bonus and prize funds. Updated totals should be available after Oct. 31.
