Dallas County Health and Human Services says it's confirmed the first human case of West Nile for 2015.
The patient, who lives in the 75217 zip code, was diagnosed with West Nile Fever.
DCHHS advises residents to take the following precautions:
- Wear insect repellent containing DEET when going outdoors.
- Drain or treat all standing water in and around the home.
- Limit outdoor activities when mosquitos are most active.
- Wear long, loose and light-colored clothing outside.
