DISD Chief Of Staff Hire Quits Before Starting

DISD Superintendent Mike Miles' choice for chief of staff, Leonardo Caballero, has decided not to come to Dallas. 

He was supposed to start his new job December 10 at a salary of $180,000.

DISD's website posted a press release Monday with a statement from Caballerosaying he's changed his mind because of personal considerations.

Caballero formerly served as  Special Assistant to the Lamar University President  in Beaumont. 

 
 
 

Former KERA staffer Shelley Kofler was news director, managing editor and senior reporter. She is an award-winning reporter and television producer who previously served as the Austin bureau chief and legislative reporter for North Texas ABC affiliate WFAA-TV.
